Bridgeway Education was proud to welcome seven leading UK boarding schools to Bermuda for this year’s Kappa Classic, creating a unique opportunity for local student-athletes and families to engage directly with top-tier international institutions.

Held over an exciting weekend of football, the Kappa Classic once again proved to be more than just a sporting event. It became a platform for meaningful conversations about education, personal development, and future pathways.

The visiting schools—Repton, Ardingly, Bede’s, Culford, King’s Bruton, Ackworth School, and Dallam—represent a diverse cross-section of the UK boarding school landscape. From elite football programmes, to institutions known for academic excellence, creative arts, and supportive learning environments, each school offered something unique to Bermuda families.

Three of the schools—Repton, Ardingly, and Bede’s—are part of the highly competitive HUDL football league, making them particularly attractive for student-athletes looking to combine high-performance sport with strong academics.

Culford offers world-class tennis and golf development in addition to their partnership with Tottenham Hotspur, Ackworth have a football partnership with PSG, King's Bruton are nationally ranked for hockey and cricket.

State boarding school Dallam provides a more affordable option for UK boarding with an established football relationship with GT7 academy.

Beyond their reputations, several schools also share existing connections with Bermuda. Notable alumni include Leilanni Nesbeth and Delray Rawlins from Bede’s, Jarryd Richardson from Ardingly, and Harry Twite and Luke Fulton from Repton—demonstrating a proven pathway from Bermuda to UK boarding success.

Throughout the weekend, families had the opportunity to meet school representatives in an informal and engaging setting, ask questions, and explore which environments might best suit their child’s ambitions—whether in sport, academics, or the arts.
Neil Speight, Director of Bridgeway Education, reflected on the event:
"It was especially pleasing and rewarding to see so many families take advantage of the opportunity to learn about boarding school options in the UK. The Kappa Classic provides an ideal platform for families and schools to have meaningful and quality interactions. I look forward to working with Kappa for many years to come."
At Bridgeway Education, our mission remains clear: to connect Bermuda’s young people with opportunities that empower them to thrive—both inside and outside the classroom. Events like the Kappa Classic highlight what’s possible when education and sport come together to open doors.
